Yeon is an experienced litigation lawyer who acts on behalf of State government departments, education organisations and general insurers in a broad range of matters. She specialises in the defence of proceedings issued in the General and Institutional Liability Lists of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Yeon manages a diverse portfolio of litigated and non-litigated disputes with a particular focus on insurance and personal injury claims, including public liability, property damage, institutional abuse, intentional torts, TAC, statutory recoveries and dust diseases.

Yeon is known for handling complex and sensitive litigation with care, diligence and attention to detail. She has a highly collaborative and client-focused approach to the management of litigation and is committed to achieving efficient and cost-effective resolutions for her clients.

Yeon has extensive experience working in the in-house legal teams of large organisations, including State government departments. As a result, she is closely attuned to the operational needs of her clients and delivers clear and pragmatic advice that is tailored to their strategic objectives.

Yeon also has a keen interest in pro bono work and has significant experience in the community legal sector providing advice and representation to clients from diverse backgrounds in court and tribunal proceedings.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Acting on behalf of a State government department in a variety of sensitive litigated claims involving allegations of historical child abuse
  • Successfully obtaining a court order for contribution from an alleged perpetrator in an institutional abuse claim in the Supreme Court
  • Assisting a large educational institution with the management and preparation of evidence for numerous witnesses in court and tribunal proceedings
  • Acting on behalf of a national retailer in respect of claims brought pursuant to section 369 of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (Vic).
