In addition to claims assessment, Rosa manages underwriting and recovery matters and is a skilled negotiator. Rosa has recently been assisting the Building and Plumbing Commission prepare for the new reforms introducing the First Resort Home Warranty Scheme and has an active role in liaising with the client to ensure a successful launch of the new scheme.

Rosa completed a secondment at QBE assisting with property damage claims and general liability matters. She has been involved in VCAT appeals, Supreme Court Appeals and a High Court Appeal. She also has experience with BAB Applications and combustible cladding matters, and commercial disputes including loan agreement disputes.

Rosa is best known for negotiating settlements and finalising complex claims to avoid ongoing litigation.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Rosa has been actively involved in assisting the client in preparation for the reforms in the Building and Construction industry liaising with executive members of the insurance team to ensure a smooth transition.

Rosa’s experiences include:

• Recently negotiating a favourable settlement in relation to a complex matter which involved 35 claims to avoid ongoing litigation. The positive outcome balanced the Building and Plumbing Commission’s preferred approach with the claimant’s challenging perspective on policy construction
• Involvement in a VCAT matter concerning defective underground plumbing works and slab integrity
• Involvement in ongoing disputes related to combustible cladding and Owner’s Corporations’ involvement related to rectification works.
