Kate has over 15 years’ experience in medical malpractice and health law.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Kate has represented medical defendants in a wide range of claims and investigations concerning catastrophic and birth injuries, alleged sexual assault, the misreporting of radiological imaging, injuries sustained during clinical trials, the contraction of non-tuberculous mycobacteria, wrongful birth and mismanaged psychiatric treatment.

Kate has represented clients in high-profile and sensitive cases in the Victorian County and Supreme Courts and the NSW Supreme and District Courts. She has also appeared in Victorian and NSW coronial matters.

Kate brings a pragmatic and insightful approach to litigation and claims resolution, along with strong communication skills and reliability to her legal practice.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Kate’s experience includes:

  • Acting for a variety of major public and private hospitals, medical practitioners, radiology service providers, paramedics, nursing and allied health staff, dentists and IVF Clinics in relation to medical malpractice claims, incident investigation, risk management, AHPRA investigations and coronial inquests and enquiries
  • Providing ongoing advice on the general liability and indemnity scheme for Victoria’s public hospitals
  • Acting in relation to disciplinary proceedings for statutory bodies.
