John has acted for national retail and shopping centre groups, public utilities, manufacturers, primary producers, small business, sporting bodies, religious organisations and schools, on instructions from insurers and major brokers. John receives instructions from clients in all of the mainland states, therefore, a heavy emphasis is placed on maintaining efficiencies and a high degree of organisation in his team.
John’s expertise is in the cost effective and efficient management of high volume personal injury claims and in resolving the complex insurance issues often associated with larger, higher quantum claims.
John developed a niche in the area of rural claims, including agricultural plant and equipment, stock and crop loss, seed contamination and chemical accidents.
John has acted in highly publicised heavy vehicle collision cases involving trucks and trains at level crossings in rural locations. These matters have involved fatalities, major interruption to rail services, committal and criminal proceedings, and coronial investigations with a heavy emphasis on forensic evidence and analysis.
John headed up a team dedicated to the defence of Recovery Claims brought pursuant to s138 of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 (Vic), along with the defence of common law claims brought by workers in industrial accidents.
As a lawyer of three decades standing in this field, John has a demonstrated ability to conduct with ease a substantial volume of diverse matters.
