Moray & Agnew is a national law firm of over 600 people, including 100 partners. We serve our domestic and international clients from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle and Perth.
Built on a solid history in insurance law, client demand in the last decade has guided our growth into commercial dispute resolution, construction and infrastructure, corporate, property and workplace legal services. The management of our firm is focused on client satisfaction, and organised by practice group or discipline, rather than office location, thus providing clients with access to truly national and integrated legal services.
We provide client focused, commercial oriented advice through our highly skilled legal teams. Always mindful of our clients’ immediate and broader objectives, our hallmark is delivering real value and outstanding results.
We pride ourselves on the breadth and diversity of our long established client base, at the same time recognising that our clients have their own specific needs. Our collaborative approach and delivering on our commitment to understanding our clients’ specific interests inspires close and trusted relationships. Our clients rely on our capability and dependability, but they value our distinctive personality and progressive culture. We know that if our people reach their potential, then our business does too.
Moray & Agnew is committed to being a good corporate citizen and this impacts everything we do in relation to our people, our clients, our community and our environment.
We are an established law firm able to leverage the best of our heritage brand with evolving best practice to consistently deliver service excellence for our clients.
Our practice began in 1948 as Sydney H Moray & Co, and acquired its present name in 1969 when it was purchased by Brian Agnew. Brian retired in 2010 and Michael Pitt is now Moray & Agnew’s Chairman and Geoff Connellan is our National Managing Partner.
From its beginnings in Sydney, Moray & Agnew’s first interstate office opened in Brisbane in 2000 with two lawyers and support staff. Our Canberra office was next in 2003 and our Melbourne office opened in January 2004.
We established a regional presence in NSW with the opening of our Newcastle office in February 2006.
Our Perth office opened in February 2011, fulfilling the firm’s strategy of Australia-wide coverage and capabilities for our clients and their legal needs.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Moray & Agnew is committed to being a model corporate citizen, and to making a meaningful contribution to positive outcomes for the broader community in which we operate. That commitment is reflected in everything we do, not only in relation to our clients, but also our people, community and environment. Achieving good corporate, social, and environmental outcomes is an integral part of how we conduct business.
To achieve this, we look to partner with like-minded professionals and organisations that share the same values as us in relation to excellence, sustainability, diversity and inclusion.
Our membership of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance attests to our commitment to incorporating sustainable practices into our firm, including having a sustainable and inclusive workplace, supporting our community, environmental conservation, and responsible governance.
We are acutely aware of our environmental responsibility, and have numerous measures and initiatives in place to reduce our environmental footprint by improving efficiency and increasing productivity.
We take our corporate social responsibilities seriously, and are always looking for opportunities to improve upon them.
