Sarah acts for the Commonwealth Government across a broad spectrum of litigation matters.
Sarah has held both in-house and external advisory roles with the Department of Home Affairs and has extensive experience appearing as a solicitor advocate before the Federal Circuit and Family Court, the Federal Court, High Court and the Administrative Review Tribunal.
She advises clients on matters involving immigration, disability, child support, and freedom of information.
Sarah
is known for her ability to manage high volume litigation on behalf of
Commonwealth Government clients. She has a special interest in immigration law
and regularly delivers training to clients and presents at the Law Council of
Australia’s Immigration Law Conference.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Advising the Minister for Immigration in relation to the extensive immigration caseload, including numerous judicial review proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia, High Court of Australia, and merits review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal
- Advising the Minister for Immigration and Department of Immigration and Citizenship staff in relation to the Coronial Inquest into the loss of the Malu Sara
- Advising the National Disability Insurance Agency in proceedings before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for review of decisions concerning access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and provision of supports under the NDIS
- Appearing as an advocate on behalf of Government clients in the Administrative Review Tribunal, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, and Federal Court of Australia.
