Kate is an experienced litigator with a strong track record. She specialises in workers compensation and acting in defence of professional negligence claims against solicitors. 

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Kate has extensive litigation experience, including appearing and instructing in matters before the ACT Magistrates Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Kate also advises and represents the Council of the ACT Law Society in professional discipline matters under the Legal Profession Act 2006 (ACT).

Kate’s experience as an associate to Justice Mossop and Associate Justice McWilliam (as her Honour then was) of the ACT Supreme Court gave her insight into judicial reasoning, procedural expectations, and the factors that influence how matters are managed and determined.

Kate is a detail-oriented litigator with a demonstrated track record of resolving matters quickly and efficiently. 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Appearing in contested interlocutory applications in the ACT Magistrates Court and ACT Supreme Court
  • Appearing as solicitor advocate in the successful defence of proceedings against the Default Insurance Fund in Alananzeh v Zgool Form Pty Ltd [2024] ACTSC 16 and on appeal in Alananzeh v Zgool Form Pty Ltd [2025] ACTCA 19
  • Advising clients on issues of jurisdiction arising under section 36B of the Workers Compensation Act 1951 (ACT)
  • Appearing in complex dispute resolution processes, including conferences and mediations.
