Bridget specialises in medical negligence litigation and has extensive experience in general insurance litigation across a range of complex matters.

Bridget has managed a large portfolio of general insurance litigation including public and occupiers’ liability, intentional and major torts, coronial inquiries, nervous shock, forced adoption, breach of privacy, institutional abuse and property damage claims.

Bridget provides practical and tailored legal advice to public and private healthcare clients on medical negligence claims and coronial investigations, combining legal analysis with a pragmatic approach to the intricacies of healthcare. 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Instructing Counsel at trial in the Supreme Court of Victoria in a litigated matter involving jury assessment of quantum and negligence, resulting in a finding of no negligence, and successfully obtaining a costs order in the client’s favour
  • Appearing on behalf of various government departments and agencies at the County and Supreme Court in respect of various interlocutory applications
  • Appearing on behalf of clients at a mediation, including preparing and delivering submissions and advising on strategy with respect to settlement negotiations
  • Advising clients in relation to strategy with respect to coronial investigations and instructing Counsel at coronial inquests
  • Obtaining default judgment for a government agency in a complex recovery action.
