Why did you become a lawyer?

When I was a teenager, an episode of 60 Minutes detailed an injustice that really affected me. I have wanted to become a lawyer since that time. When I fell into insurance, I found that I enjoyed all aspects of it. Domestic building insurance is deceptively broad and interesting, involving litigation, insolvency, contracts, ADR and statutory interpretation.

Why Moray & Agnew?

Domestic building insurance is a very niche insurance product. Our team is the strongest in Victoria and I wanted to be part of that. When the opportunity arose to join Morays in 2019, I was thrilled. Since then, the firm has supported my career progression, provided unwavering flexibility and understanding during COVID, especially the time needed to home school 3 children, and has been a great cultural fit. Our practice group is now also focusing on Owners Corporation and strata law. Being involved in the growth and expansion of that area as a new partner is exciting.

What do you enjoy outside work?

I adore spending time with my family, going for long walks and showing my children all aspects of life. My happiness is found in the kitchen, trying new recipes and entertaining friends. I enjoy watching foreign TV series and movies, reading and am learning how to cultivate our veggie patch and herb garden. When life goes back to normal, I would like to continue travelling and exploring new places, and have Alaska and a safari trip on my list. I have also made a commitment to start pushing myself to be more adventurous and am planning to learn to dive.

Three words that sum you up are...

Dedicated, social and busy.
