- Advising corporate and non-corporate government clients on a range of matters concerning administrative law, work health and safety (WHS)
- Representing Commonwealth, ACT Government and private clients in relation to merits review, judicial review and appeal proceedings
- Claims under statutory schemes, including under the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Comcare Scheme.
Stephen has extensive experience working closely with government and private employers, insurers, insurance brokers, claims managers and regulators.
He currently defends and advises clients in relation to compensation claims in most Australian jurisdictions, various civil and administrative tribunals, the Administrative Review Tribunal and the Federal Court.
Having been a member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Stephen brings clients practical and effective guidance through his first-hand experience with Australian Government departments, agencies, advisers and stakeholders. His familiarity with Tribunal procedures and guidelines, coupled with an intimate understanding of the Commonwealth’s obligation to act as a model litigant, ensures that clients benefit from his strategic insight and effective navigation of administrative law frameworks.
