Delivery of pro bono legal services remains a high priority for the firm, and we are proud to have been a signatory to the Australian Pro Bono Centre’s National Pro Bono Target since 2011. Since then we have greatly expanded our pro bono work and have delivered more than 30,000 hours of legal assistance, valued at more than $10 million. Our National Pro Bono Committee oversees, champions and coordinates each of our office’s activities, ensuring our ability to continue to make a difference locally and nationally.

At a national level, we partner with the Fair Work Commission to provide eligible employers with pro bono legal advice as part of their Workplace Advice Service, which provides free legal advice in relation to dismissals, workplace rights and workplace bullying.

In addition, we deliver pro bono services to a range of organisations across Australia, including:

  • ACT Law Society Pro Bono Clearing Program
  • Domestic violence support services
  • Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria
  • Health-related not-for-profit community groups
  • Homeless Persons’ Legal Services
  • Inner Melbourne Community Legal Services
  • Mission Australia
  • The National Centre Against Bullying, part of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation
  • Not-for-profit community groups focused on supporting children or the elderly
  • Prisoners Legal Service
  • Surfing the Spectrum
  • University of Newcastle Legal Centre
