Russell is a Partner in our Corporate & Commercial Team, with a market-leading practice at the intersection of corporate transactions and complex tax structuring.

Russell advises private groups, high-growth businesses and investors on acquisitions, disposals, restructures and capital structuring, with a particular focus on managing tax and duty outcomes in transaction design. He is one of only six accredited specialists in tax law in Victoria, as well as being a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, with over 20 years’ experience across both public and private sectors.

He acts for high-net-worth individuals, family groups and founders on ownership structuring, succession planning and pre-transaction reorganisations, aligning commercial objectives with tax, control and asset protection outcomes

Tax risk and disputes in a corporate context
Russell advises on ATO and State Revenue Office audits, disputes and technical issues (including Part IVA), often in connection with corporate transactions or restructuring activity. He provides practical, implementation-focused advice to manage risk while preserving commercial objectives
