Roger’s clients include most major Australian workers compensation insurers. His preeminent experience in defendant litigation is well regarded across the jurisdiction. Roger takes particular pride in establishing and maintaining close client relationships. His personable attitude and keen interest in governance has seen him assist in the drafting of legislative amendments to the ACT workers compensation scheme and the development of internal policy for various stakeholders and regulators.

Roger is renowned for his pragmatic management of sensitive matters and his ability to synthesize complex factual circumstances. He is a proponent for alternative dispute resolution, advocating for early resolution and shrewd commercial settlements which ensures that his clients receive the best results possible as quickly as possible.

Roger acted for the successful insurer in the ACT Supreme Court decision of Avon Products Pty Ltd v Falls (2010) 5 ACTLR 34. It remains the leading authority regarding the necessity of identifying the ‘State or Territory of connection’ in relation to an employer’s principal place of business.
