Rachel is an experienced lawyer and former clinical psychologist who specialises in institutional child abuse claims, predominantly for NSW Government agencies. In this space, she is particularly known for deftly managing and defending historical child sexual abuse claims, including sensitive, multi-party and high quantum claims.
Experience & expertise
Rachel’s broader experience has included acting for plaintiffs in institutional abuse claims against state and federal governments, religious institutions and non-government organisations.
Rachel also undertook a secondment with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, which gave her valuable experience and a practical understanding of the client perspective of institutional abuse claims. This has honed her appreciation of the need to meet client expectations and provide clear advice.
As both an experienced clinical psychologist and a lawyer, Rachel understands the trauma associated with childhood sexual abuse and the complexities of psychiatric claims. This knowledge informs her unique understanding of this complex fi eld and her compassionate approach in all matters.
