Nick is a Senior Associate in our Liability Team.
With 8 years of PQE experience, Nick has considerable experience in insurance litigation, having run matters involving property damage (defendant and recovery work), public liability, personal injury, historical sexual abuse, CTP, professional indemnity and general insurance.
Experience & expertise
During his years in private practice, he has been afforded autonomy over his matters which has accelerated his development as a lawyer. His skillset includes drafting pleadings, affidavits, advices, obtaining expert evidence, liaising with witnesses, appearing in Court, appearing at conferences/mediations, preparing disclosure and instructing Counsel at trials. He recently ran a matter to trial in the Supreme Court of Rockhampton and obtained judgment in favour of his client.
Nick is passionate about working collaboratively with his clients in achieving the best outcome possible. In particular, he thrives when given the opportunity to showcase his advocacy and negotiating skillsets.
Nick has previously worked at several highly regarded insurance specialised law firms in both Brisbane and Melbourne.
Nick has been involved in a plethora of interesting and complex litigated insurance matters. He has had the opportunity to be involved two Supreme Court trials and an appeal for a personal injury claim heard in Rockhampton.

Work highlights
Nick has acted in a number of significant cases including:
- Acting for Allianz Insurance in Anderson v Clayton’s Towing Service Pty Ltd & Ors QSC 26 and obtained judgment in Allianz’s favour. An appeal was lodged by the Transport Accident Commission but was dismissed by consent shortly thereafter
- Acting for an electrical contractor in a property damage (house fire) claim
- Acting for several building and pest inspectors who allegedly failed to detect signs of termite damage in residential homes
- Acting for a casino with respect to a claim made by a patron after he was assaulted on the premises
- Acting for an entity with respect to a slip and fall on a travelator in an airport.
