Loukia is a Partner in our Compulsory Third Party Team, advising and conducting litigation on behalf of major Australian CTP insurers.
Loukia commenced her legal career at Moray & Agnew and is a senior member of the team for CTP NSW. She brings 16 years’ experience and has specialised in CTP since 2012.

Loukia has appeared and instructed Counsel in the NSW Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of New South Wales as well as District and Local Courts.
Loukia is committed to achieving commercial results for her clients. Loukia is an experienced and skilled negotiator who always delivers high standards of service. Her approach is focused on achieving early resolution of claims for her clients to ensure their matters are managed as cost-effectively and expeditiously as possible.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Loukia has completed a Bachelor of Forensic Science. This background helps her provide advice in matters involving complex medical and causation issues. She has extensive experience in the drafting of detailed and technical submissions in such matters for the Personal Injury Commission in damages, medical assessment, review applications and miscellaneous claims disputes.
She acted in claims involving complex orthopaedic injuries, brain injuries and pure nervous shock, psychiatric injuries / PTSD. She has handled claims under the Compensation to Relatives Act 1897 (NSW) as well as s151Z recoveries.
As part of her practice Loukia regularly mentors’ staff and has a keen interest in the teaching and development of young lawyers. She maintains excellent client relationships and presents frequently to insurers on a wide range of topics. Loukia has participated in legal clinics for all major insurers over the years.

Loukia’s experience includes:
- Handling numerous statutory disputes alongside her team relating to whole person impairment and threshold injuries for the DRS, with some matters resulting in the withdrawal of common law damages claims
- Managing general assessments in the Personal Injury Commission with respect to both liability and quantum.
- Representing CTP insurers in a wide range of courts, including the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and District Court
- Acting on behalf of CTP insurers in Administrative Review in the Supreme Court of NSW in relation to errors within certificates
- Acting in the defence of Nominal Defendant claims
- Managing claims in which indemnity has been denied by the insurer
- Advising and managing the defence of litigated s151Z recoveries under the Workers Compensation Act 1987 (NSW).
