Jacqueline has more than 20 years’ experience advising on the strategic management and defence of complex general liability, personal injury and abuse claims, including high-value, high-profile and media-sensitive matters.

Jacqueline’s practice also encompasses coverage advice, including multi-insurer arrangements and contractual allocation of risk and indemnity obligations between parties.
Jacqueline is a confident advocate and has extensive experience representing clients in court, at mediations and settlement conferences. She is equally focused on achieving commercially advantageous resolutions where appropriate and identifying and pursuing recovery opportunities to reduce overall claims exposure.

Over the past 12 months, Jacqueline has acted in two significant, high-profile claims for the Department of Education:
- IZG2 v State of New South Wales [2025] NSWSC 1366 (currently on appeal); and
- NS v State of New South Wales (Department of Education) [2026] NSWDC 254 – a landmark decision where the State obtained a complete indemnity from the cross-defendant/teacher.
Jacqueline fights hard for her clients, while also being mindful of risk management and reputational issues. For claims that run, she will run them aggressively with disciplined execution. Where there is likely to be a liability exposure, she will devise an early settlement strategy designed to contain indemnity and defence costs, protect the insured’s interests and minimise reputational damage.
