Joseph has proven experience in native title and local government having been the Principal/Senior Lawyer at a prominent Aboriginal Land Council and a lawyer at one of Queensland’s largest Aboriginal legal services.


Joseph has a comprehensive understanding of the statutory functions of native title representative bodies under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act) 2006 (Cth).

Joseph has a strong track record in providing legal advice to Native Title Holders, Traditional Owners and Prescribed Body Corporates (RNTBCs), concerning Future Acts (mining and exploration), native title, governance and compliance, the successful negotiation of cultural heritage agreements, ILUAs, leases, compensation and regulatory and disciplinary bodies.

Joseph is an experienced and keen advocate who enjoys appearing in various Courts and Tribunals on behalf of his clients. He has extensive knowledge in statutory prosecutions and regulatory bodies and has appeared in multiple jurisdictions and States. He also served as an Associate to the Hon. Justice G. John Digby KC of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Additionally, Joseph has extensive commercial experience at both managerial and executive level positions having worked for companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and the London Stock Exchange.
