He consistently operates in complex multi-party matters involving solvent and insolvent entities that may arise either in a pre-litigation scenarios or once proceedings have been commenced.
His practice provides solutions to the array of issues that can arise either during the performance of the works or after completion of a project. The versatility in the services provided are of interest to domestic and international insurers as well as commercial construction clients who are facing disputes and require strategic advice, whether that be with respect to their own policies of insurance or those held by potential third parties
Devinda is experienced in construction-related property damage claims, public liability, property and recoveries claims.
Devinda has developed niche expertise in handling claims connected to the compulsory plumbing insurance scheme in Victoria. His experience in the area of plumbers liability includes acting for several of the insurers involved in that scheme at claim, litigation and / or recovery stages, handling a number of complicated claims involving multiple parties / multiple insurers, advising senior management on issues relating to underwriting and risk as well as developing strategies with senior management for claims handling and recoveries.
Devinda operates in a high intensity environment. Late claim notifications by insureds results in Devinda often needing to prepare complex matters within an exceptionally short period of time. His accessibility and calm fastidious approach enables him to meets the demands of that environment, and provide focussed strategic advice, to the relief of his clients.
