Ben is an accomplished litigator with experience across a diverse range of insurance and commercial practice areas.


Ben has acted for a range of professionals in professional indemnity claims including directors and officers, solicitors, engineers, estate agents and building professionals. This includes providing coverage advice to both Australian and international insurers, underwriters and underwriting agencies.

Ben also has extensive experience in subrogated recovery work arising from property damage, business interruption and fidelity claims has been involved in a number of large, complex recoveries in which successful results were achieved. 

Ben also acts for a range of clients in commercial litigation disputes including debt recovery, property, leasing and intellectual property. Ben has a particular interest in leasing disputes and has acted for a range of tenants and landlords.   

Ben is highly regarded by clients for his skill in establishing a clear strategy at the outset of each matter referred to him, then applying a straightforward, practical style to meet his client’s goals.  


Ben has acted for numerous landlords and tenants in successful VCAT and court actions including disputes relating to lockouts and applications for re-entry.

He regularly acts in off-the plan disputes including disputes relating to sunset clause provisions.

Ben has acted in a complex and successful subrogated recovery action involving a warehouse fire that ran for an 11-day trial.

He has acted for multiple insurers in a large and complex subrogated recovery worth 500 million and ran for 5 years in Western Australia.

Ben successfully defended a trademark infringement dispute regarding ‘Persian Fetta’.

He has successfully run many subrogated recoveries involving property damage claims.
