Our History
Moray & Agnew is extremely proud of its long and distinguished history which can be traced back more than half a century to its beginnings when Sydney H Moray, upon his return from service in World War II, commenced practice in Sydney. By the mid 50s, the practice had developed into an important, respected and flourishing insurance law firm.
In 1968, Brian Agnew acquired the practice, heralding the beginning of its new identity as Moray & Agnew.
The first interstate office of Moray & Agnew was opened in Brisbane in February 2000 and the second, in Canberra, in February 2003. Our merger with Connery & Partners in Melbourne in January 2004 and the acquisition of established teams of lawyers in Newcastle and Canberra in February 2006 further complemented our strong East Coast presence.
Today, Moray & Agnew stands proud as one of the largest specialist insurance law firms in Australia. The firm also specialises in commercial and workplace relations as further services to our clients. We have over 160 lawyers dedicated to servicing our extensive list of insurance, government and corporate clients.
